Privacy Policy
Last updated:
At Forj Intel (forj.cloud), we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have, including Google user data we receive when you sign in with Google and connect YouTube. We aim to be straightforward -- no hidden surprises.
The Forj Intel app lives at app.forj.cloud. This policy covers both the marketing site and the app.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information when you interact with our platform:
- Email address -- provided when you join our waitlist, contact us, or sign in with Google.
- Name and profile photo -- from our contact form, or from your Google account if you sign in.
- YouTube channel URL -- optionally provided through our contact form so we can better understand your needs.
- Usage data -- pages visited, time on site, browser type, and referring pages. In the app we also record product events (for example, that you opened analytics) so we can improve the product. We do not send raw YouTube video content to our product analytics provider.
Google account and YouTube data
If you sign in to the app with Google, we request only the access needed to run Forj Intel. Google shows you the exact permissions on the consent screen before anything is granted.
- Sign-in profile (
openid, email, profile) -- your Google account id, name, email address, and profile photo, so we can create and recognise your Forj Intel account. - YouTube channel and videos (
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly) -- your channel id, title, description, handle, thumbnail, subscriber/video/view counts, and your videos' titles, descriptions, thumbnails, tags, duration, privacy status, and public stats. We use this to show your library and channel overview. We cannot upload, edit, or delete your YouTube content with this scope. - YouTube Analytics reports (
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/yt-analytics.readonly) -- views, watch time, average view duration, likes, comments, shares, subscribers gained and lost, traffic sources, audience age/gender mix, and per-video audience retention. We use this to power dashboards, charts, and written insights. We do not request monetary or revenue scopes.
We also store OAuth access and refresh tokens on our servers so the app can keep showing your analytics after you close the browser, until you disconnect or we delete your account.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Communicate with you about the Forj Intel platform, including launch updates and feature announcements.
- Provide, operate, and improve our services once you have access.
- Show you your own YouTube analytics, video library, trends, and recommendations in the app.
- Generate optional AI-written insights from your titles, tags, and performance metrics.
- Respond to your inquiries and support requests.
- Analyze usage patterns to improve the product experience.
We will not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Google user data — Limited Use
Forj Intel's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- Google and YouTube data is used only to provide and improve user-facing features that are prominent in Forj Intel: channel analytics, video insights, trend matching, and content recommendations shown to you in the app.
- We do not use Google user data to serve ads, including retargeting, personalized, or interest-based advertising.
- We do not sell Google user data, and we do not transfer it to data brokers or information resellers.
- We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except (a) to processors listed below that help us run those same user-facing features, (b) for security investigations, (c) to comply with law, or (d) as part of a merger or sale of the business, and then only with your consent where required.
- Forj Intel staff do not read your YouTube API data. If you book a coaching call, you may choose to share your screen or discuss numbers yourself. That is optional and separate from API access.
4. Third-Party Services
We use a small number of third-party services to operate the site and app:
- FormSubmit.co -- processes form submissions (waitlist signups and contact forms). Your email address and any information you submit through forms passes through their service.
- Google -- sign-in and YouTube Data / Analytics APIs when you connect a channel.
- Neon -- PostgreSQL database that stores your Forj Intel account, OAuth tokens, and synced YouTube channel/video/analytics records.
- Vercel -- hosts the app at app.forj.cloud.
- OpenAI -- receives titles, tags, and performance metrics you already see in the app, only to generate the written insights and idea suggestions shown to you. We do not allow OpenAI to use that data to train their general models via our integration, and we do not use it to train our own models.
- Mixpanel -- product analytics for the app (page views and feature use). We do not send YouTube video files or raw API payloads there.
- Cloudflare and GitHub Pages -- CDN, DNS, and hosting for this marketing site.
The current list lives on our sub-processor list and Data Processing Addendum. A signed DPA is also available on request via the contact page.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. Synced YouTube records and OAuth tokens are kept while your Google account stays connected so the dashboard can stay up to date. If you joined the waitlist, we keep your information until the platform launches and you either create an account or ask to be removed. We may also retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, such as resolving disputes.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your personal data from our systems.
- Disconnect Google / YouTube -- revoke Forj Intel in your Google Account permissions and email us if you also want the stored tokens and synced channel data removed.
- Withdraw consent for communications at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, including a full account deletion request, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
7. YouTube API Services
Forj Intel uses YouTube API Services to read the channel data described above. By using the app you also agree to YouTube's Terms of Service. Google explains how it handles data in the Google Privacy Policy.
8. Cookies
We use basic analytics cookies to understand how visitors interact with our site, and session cookies in the app so you stay signed in. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though some site functionality may be affected.
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. OAuth tokens are stored in our database and used only to call Google and YouTube APIs on your behalf. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users via email. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
11. Contact Us
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or how we handle your data, reach out through the contact page or email [email protected].
